Real Estate Market Updates and Falling Rates
Hi ,
The real estate market is currently experiencing some exciting dynamics. Here are a few key factors:
Mortgage Rates: Recently, mortgage rates have been on a downward trend, reaching their lowest levels since early 2023. This decline is partly due to the Federal Reserve’s recent rate cuts.
Home Sales: In spite of the lower rates, home sales have seen a mixed performance. Pricing has been vital to a quick sale and location is always a key factor. I’m also seeing a trend that most buyers are focusing on more updated properties.
Home Prices: Home prices have declined slightly due to an increase in home inventory in most neighborhoods. As rates continue to decline and inventory is high, more buyers will find real estate more affordable. This combination could make for an active real estate market for the coming months.
Market Outlook: With recent rate drops and more expected in the near future, experts predict an active real estate market into 2025. Inventory is higher than it has been in recent years and recent price/rate declines are expected to bring more buyers into the market. The best values will be found in 2024 before the increased demand of the spring market.
