Real Estate Market Report - October 2016

Low Inventory is the New Normal…  

After a detailed analysis of the latest market reports, the Winter season is shaping up to mirror the past few years and lead to another increase in home values during 2017. 

How high will prices go?

I am predicting another increase in home values but at a much slower pace than the past two years, somewhere around 5-6%. The following reports support this conclusion:

Inventory is down 5.2% from September 2015 to September 2016. History shows that this will likely continue through December followed by a strong increase through Summer 2017. Median sales price is up 12% for one year through September 2016. I am expecting values to rise slightly for the rest of 2016 and continue at a higher pace in early 2017.
